Topuria on Pimblett’s defeat: “Little sausage, all you had to do was defeat a 38-year-old man”
Spanish fighter Ilia Topuria ridiculed Briton Paddy Pimblett on social networks after losing to American Justin Gaethje in the main fight at UFC 324 in Las Vegas.
Gaethje defeated Pimblett by unanimous decision to become the interim UFC lightweight champion. Topuria, the holder of a full title, took a break from his career for personal reasons.
“Little sausage, all you had to do was defeat a 38-year-old man.” You just missed out on the biggest payday of your life. You’d be rich if you won. Justin, all I can say is congratulations… and also, get ready, but in any case, you’re already in the air,” Topuria wrote.
The 37-year-old Gaethje won 27 victories and suffered five defeats in MMA. Pimblett, 31, has 23 wins and four losses.

Usik contacted the WBC regarding the future and received an official response
WBC President Mauricio Suleiman commented on a possible fight for the world heavyweight champion Alexandra Usika against former WBC champion Deontay Wilder.
Suleiman said: “We undoubtedly hope to see Usyk in the ring again. He returned to the WBC with a request for a voluntary defense of the title, which was accepted, and now we are waiting for the details of his future fight. Wilder has been the WBC champion for five years, he is incredibly strong and has the right to fight in voluntary defense.”
Previously, Alexander Usik (24-0, 15 KOs), the owner of the WBC, WBO, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles (over 90.7 kg), talked about his plans and admitted when he plans to end his professional career.

Umar Nurmagomedov: “I need a fight as soon as possible, even if not for the title”
Russian MMA fighter Umar Nurmagomedov said that he wants to quickly have a new fight in the UFC and does not insist on a championship fight right now.
On Saturday, Nurmagomedov defeated Brazilian Deiveson Figueiredo by decision on the preliminary card of the UFC 324 tournament in Las Vegas. 30-year-old Nurmagomedov has 20 wins and one defeat in MMA fights. He ranks second in the UFC bantamweight division rankings; Russian Petr Yan holds the championship title.
“I will ask for a new fight so that I can fight again as soon as possible.” I want to be active and fight. It doesn’t matter if it’s a title fight. I don’t care who wins the Yadong-O’Malley fight. I’ll fight anyone. I really don’t care. “I’m going to take my chances and take the title,” MMA Junkie quotes Nurmagomedov.

BRIEDIS: “Lomachenko? This was not a normal fight. This boxer beat Vasily”
Mairis Briedis He shared his predictions for the fight between Shakur Stevenson and Teofimo Lopez, recalling the American’s fight with Vasily Lomachenko.
“I think Stevenson will win on points. A strong guy like Teofimo definitely won’t win ahead of schedule; he won’t win 100%. He… he can break down, but he won’t have the strength and power to beat Teofimo ahead of schedule.”
Even when Teofimo beat Lomachenko, it wasn’t very interesting to watch because I realized it couldn’t be considered a normal fight. This is in my opinion. From where? Because Vasily showed about 60% of his abilities.”
It’s going to be pretty complicated here because here’s a boxer who beat Lomachenko, and here’s a guy who hasn’t lost a single professional fight. For me as an athlete, this is a confrontation that will still be stressful for both. And of course it will be very difficult physically for both of them,” Briedis said.
