BRIEDIS: “Lomachenko? This was not a normal fight. This boxer beat Vasily”
Mairis Briedis He shared his predictions for the fight between Shakur Stevenson and Teofimo Lopez, recalling the American’s fight with Vasily Lomachenko.
“I think Stevenson will win on points. A strong guy like Teofimo definitely won’t win ahead of schedule; he won’t win 100%. He… he can break down, but he won’t have the strength and power to beat Teofimo ahead of schedule.”
Even when Teofimo beat Lomachenko, it wasn’t very interesting to watch because I realized it couldn’t be considered a normal fight. This is in my opinion. From where? Because Vasily showed about 60% of his abilities.”
It’s going to be pretty complicated here because here’s a boxer who beat Lomachenko, and here’s a guy who hasn’t lost a single professional fight. For me as an athlete, this is a confrontation that will still be stressful for both. And of course it will be very difficult physically for both of them,” Briedis said.
