Lost for the second time in a row. It’s time for Ukrainians to think about changes
Maxim Prodan lost again. Eight months have passed since the last defeat, but now the Ukrainian has clearly and unquestioningly lost. Moreover, the referee saved him a little. Most likely not on purpose, but the fact remains.
The Ukrainian lost because he played the attacking fighter where he should have given some thought and not rushed too much. Two defeats in a row is not the end of a career, it’s an opportunity to reflect. Maybe something is wrong with the fight plans or the approach during training?
Prodan was returning from a controversial defeat. This time no one will argue
September 25, 2021 Maxim lost to Prodan for the first time. Until that day, there was only one ambiguous moment in his record – a draw against Manuel Largachi. The Ukrainian returned this debt – a year later he knocked out his opponent in the sixth round.
In 2021, Prodan appeared in the strongest show of his career. Getting into the bottom card of the evening between Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua is a goal for many candidates. All went well for the prodan, even the rival turned out to be ideal for promoting the show alone.
Florian Marcu is an Albanian who sells himself more than boxing. In fact, Marku hasn’t beaten anyone big or average except Prodan, but the arrogance and buzz are enough to get him signed up for the more expensive boxers. On this occasion there were experiences, and they came true – the judges in an equal duel, in which Prodan was clearly more correct, gave the victory to Mark. Albanians are happy, Maxim and Ukrainians are not happy at all.
Although his return may not seem easy, it is difficult to describe the 36-year-old Venezuelan as very difficult. Luis Enrique Moreno doesn’t have a single big win, but he’s lost to all the guys with the potential to be Sold.
Yes, it’s not very comfortable. Tall, long sleeved, so what? For the 173-centimeter Maxim, such a rival should not have been a matter of curiosity. Yes, he packs a good punch, but the tremendous power in the punches has never been seen. This, of course, if you do not miss the obvious and clean blows. All in all, a good option to return. And there will be some resistance and nothing terrible should be expected.
It seemed so. It turned out quite different.
It’s a fact that it’s difficult for Prodan to box against tall opponents. However, in the third minute of the fight, he started to catch the opponent’s punches. And it continued until the end.
Surprisingly, Maxim’s body movements worked fifty-fifty: either he evaded the opponent’s attacks well and even managed to hit back, or he took both a punch and combinations. In turn, the pressure from the Ukrainians completely disappeared and the base went to the punches of power. Such a version of Saul Alvarez in a duel against Dmitry Bivol.
At one point, it seemed like a more productive version. In general, Romero dictated the fight. Despite being powered by the Ukrainians, he moved better, worked better with a jab. And the sixth fell. It seemed like everything. Maxim still found his opponent’s head with his left hook and literally buried his nose. Then he stood up as if nothing had happened.

Maybe something would have worked out to give the Ukrainian more time, but Maksim had a few seconds to finish, which didn’t help him at all. And the opponent surprisingly quickly came to his senses.
In the seventh round, Prodan literally flew away with his hands on his hips and the desire to score. It turned out badly – I missed, I played very hard, I got a rebound. Actually, it’s a great story. The Ukrainian did not defend himself, did not kneel. Just received and grinned as if it were some kind of computer game. But it is not.
The referee must stop the fight immediately and must not count a standing collapse. However, he collapsed twice before deciding to end the fight. The first count could have saved Prodan but he climbed back into the wheelhouse and that was it.
WHAT BEND. 😳

An impossible defeat.
What’s next?
For Romero, this is the biggest victory of his career. But nothing more can be expected from him. It happened and it happened – it happened, congratulations. Well done, he did a great job.
Sellers need to think and think fast. All of his defeats and uncertain performances stem from the same thing – his belief in his strength. It was then, it may never happen again now. Because in boxing, pure strength rarely wins.
Maxim has a small amateur background, but then there’s time to catch up on what he didn’t do. The Ukrainian lacks the school itself. There is the show but there is no understanding of how to do this show while the opponent is running away.
