Dmitry SOSNOVSKY: “Prodivus is a cynical collaborator and betraying Ukraine”
Longtime head coach of the Ukrainian national boxing team Dmitry Sosnovsky FBU Chairman Vladimir Prodivus told everything he thought about it.
– Various people and media call Prodivus the head of the Ukrainian Boxing Federation, others – the ex-president. Personally, who is he?
Of course, he’s not a president. The fake conference, which allegedly elected him head of the FBU, was held with gross violations. In fact, he called himself president. I don’t understand how you signed up with the Justice Department. Prodivus is not a president, he is a fraud. I’ve said it many times before and I’ll repeat it: Prodivus is doing everything to destroy Ukrainian boxing.
– Prodivus was appointed as the Vice Chairman of the IBA Board of Directors at the IBA Congress held in Istanbul recently. In my opinion, as the legal head of the FBU, the situation regarding the activities of Prodivus needs to be resolved in court. Do you know about the actions of the Federation headed by Kirill Shevchenko in this direction?
– Friday (May 20 – circa), Ukraine’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Vadym Gutzeit, had a very positive attitude. Everyone already knows who Prodivus is. Prodivus has such a style that he lies all the time. I worked with him for many years, I know. Even after the start of an extensive Russian invasion of Ukraine, when no one told anyone to believe that he had driven his family out of Ukraine and will now return. And after these words he has not yet returned. And I don’t think it will ever come back. Even before the war, he did not want to meet people who disagreed with him. He came to the Ukrainian championship and ran away from the people. Besides, she won’t be seeing each other now.
Because he made a big mistake. By all indications, he is a cynical collaborator. Why sarcastic? Because a person who sarcastically calls himself a Ukrainian patriot is cynicism of the highest order. So what kind of Ukrainian patriot is he? And after that he goes and supports the Kremlin – everyone knows what kind of person he is.
Another cynicism is to go to these elections and wear a T-shirt with the portrait of our president (Vladimir Zelensky – ed.). Just a guard. Fits the term collaborator – he sold his country, that’s for sure. Therefore, during martial law in the country, the question of the head of the Federation should not be decided even by the court. The position of the Ministry of Youth and Sports was clearly expressed by Vadim Gutzeit. Patriotic and on time. No need for court anymore. The Ministry of Justice must register the legally elected President Kirill Shevchenko and that’s it.
Prodivus has no moral right to head the FBU. He is a collaborator and a traitor to our Motherland. It’s clean. But I am also interested in other people. The heads of the regional federations, these names, the coaches who scold and support his messages on social networks, congratulate him on his election to the position in the IBA. If Prodivus is a collaborator, who are its supporters? They have taken positions illegally and are holding their positions. But now there will be changes, and the coaches and staff that Prodivus must train and manage must come, not the people that Prodivus has positioned.
Prodivus has tainted all Ukrainian boxing and all sport. Trainer Dzhunkovsky in Irpen was shot dead in the gym during training. How many boxers have died so far and how many are fighting! And where is Andreychuk, the leader of Kyiv, who supported him? Why does he shut up and say nothing? And where is the great gost coach Gurovich, who still holds the position? Where are they all, why are they silent? Gurovich fled abroad, Andreychuk was never heard from. If Prodivus is a collaborator and these people supported him, who are they?
His re-election as IBA President at the Kremlin’s IBA Congress in Istanbul followed the same scenario as Prodivus’ election at Mostostroy. Look how the International Olympic Committee reacted to this…
– He reacted in a way that put boxing at great risk on the program of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. And Prodivus in particular is involved in that.
– Yes, they are ruining Ukrainian boxing, and they are ruining world boxing with the Kremlin. I hope that elite boxers and influential people in boxing will protect our sport and still not be excluded from the Olympic program. Sosnovsky, behind this opinion in the world there are millions of people – coaches, athletes … And such disgusting and dirty tricks for boxing are performed by many of these people, – said Sosnovsky.

Let’s bow our heads. 21-year-old boxer died on New Year’s Eve
Every day at 9 am, Ukrainians commemorate the people who lost their lives in the Russia-Ukraine war. Today Sport.ua recalls that 21-year-old Thai boxing master Vladislav Vakulenko, a very positive person, had great potential in the ring, but with the beginning of a full-scale invasion he decided to defend Ukraine. The fighter died exactly three years ago, on December 30, 2022, while conducting a combat mission near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.
Vladislav was born in Kiev and has been involved with sports since his childhood. Just six months before his tragic death, he received a diploma from the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine and dreamed of major competitions, medals and training future champions. In parallel with his studies, Vladislav trained in Muay Thai. The man hoped to return to training in the gym after the war.
Vladislav Vakulenko took up arms immediately after the Muscovites’ large-scale occupation of his territory. “We live with war! I understand that we live in a historical time when there are real brave comrades nearby, whose soul and body are eager for war… This is a time when you will remain a hero or die a hero,” he wrote on social networks.
His friends and coach remember Vlad as a man of light. He always smiled, joked, supported others, was a master of inspiration, did not make excuses, did not back down from difficulties. The friend wrote: “You’ve done more at this age than some have done in 50 or 60 years.” And Vlad’s mentor, Stanislav Voiten, recalls: “He did his best in training, gave his life in the fight against the invader. I am proud to have known him.”
