On May 21, Abu Dhabi hosted another show fight of former world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the five weight categories (talking about boxing). Invincible American met another veteran, Don Moore. Their duel lasted eight rounds of two minutes each. The organizers did not initially plan to announce the winner.

Mayweather is believed to have ended his career with a victory over Andre Berto in 2015. It was another defense of Floyd’s two heavyweight titles. So the great American’s record began to consist of 49 victories in 49 fights, and with these numbers he retired. In 2017, Mayweather returned from retirement for an incredibly exciting crossover with Conor McGregor. This fight was approved as a professional boxing fight, so Floyd’s 50th victory entered the record.

After his retirement the martial theme obviously went to Mayweather and he continued to develop it. True, from now on, seemingly random people who did not always have a direct relationship with boxing became competitors. But these fights, notable, were only exhibited in nature and were not counted. Mayweather defeated Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Natsukawa in 2018. And last year, Floyd had a surprisingly difficult relationship with blogger Logan Paul.

Now Mayweather’s rival is Don Moore. He is also a former boxer. He is now 42 (Floyd, recall, 45) and has been retired since 2016. He managed 18 pro-fights during his career and won them all. Moore mostly fought in the featherweight division. But all this is not as interesting as another detail from his biography. To wear. The truth is, Floyd’s uncle, who died two years ago, worked for a long time with coach Roger Mayweather. Also, Moore had a lot to work with with Floyd as his sparring partner. Mayweather Jr. Recalling his experience working with the big champion, Moore claimed that he was able to create problems for the great champion.

In face-to-face encounters, Don also aimed to compete with Floyd, but it didn’t turn out very well. The fight went the whole distance, and over the course of its course, Mayweather confidently took episode after episode, and at one point even managed to knock out the opponent. Floyd’s victory was still not counted, but he was not very upset: another fat check was going with him for the USA, and it seems that there is an option with a new fight in a similar format.

2020 Olympics champion boxer Batyrgaziev decided to take a break from his career

Olympic champion and former interim WBA super featherweight champion Albert Batyrgaziev decided to take a break from his professional career.

At the beginning of July in Istanbul at the “IBA.PRO 8” tournament, Batyrgaziev lost early to the British James Dickens and lost the IBA.PRO champion and interim WBA champion titles in the second featherweight division. For the 27-year-old Russian, this was the first defeat in his professional career.

— I want to tell you honestly about my plans. Many people ask about their future career. Now I have decided to take a conscious break from my professional career. For me, boxing has been and remains a huge part of my life. Therefore, this choice is now very difficult. My whole sports life has been a race to the top: four Russian championships, an Olympic medal in Tokyo and then turning professional, where I went undefeated.

The last fight on July 2 was a turning point for me. The first defeat made me look at many things differently. I thank Allah for the trials and mercies that helped me become a better person. Since I have always felt a responsibility not only in the ring, but also before society, now is the time to become more active in projects that I have long planned, for example, supporting the development of sports infrastructure in my native regions. This doesn’t mean I’m saying goodbye to the ring. I remain an active boxer. But now all my work is outside of it. I thank everyone for their incredible support along this path: both in moments of triumph and in moments of challenge. She gives strength. I promise this new chapter will be just as honest and purposeful. I’m not saying goodbye, I’m just saying “goodbye,” Batyrgaziev wrote in the Telegram channel.

Batyrgaziev won gold in the weight category up to 57 kg at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. In the professional ring he has 12 wins and one loss.
