Anthony Joshua: “I will be knocked out in the rematch with Usyk”
Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has promised to be knocked out in a rematch with Alexander Usik, holder of the WBA, WBO and IBF titles.
“He won two more rounds than me. Now I plan to go for the knockout. My style is to get close, to customize it for myself and my opponent. That’s my plan for the fight.
Usyk is classified as a competitor per kilo. I still don’t know what that means. I just know that people love wins and knockouts. In all these rankings, I was never listed per kilo. It is one of the best in all weight classes. For me personally, Usyk means that I fight according to my values, that is, the best fighters of this generation.
When you knock out boxers, you look good, like dazzling in boxing. Usyk is an elite competitor, Olympic gold medalist, former undisputed world heavyweight champion and now heavyweight champion. It should go down in boxing history and I’ll fight it in three months. “With God’s help, through prayer and hard work, I will win and become a three-time heavyweight champion of the world.”
The opponents are expected to take a rematch in July.
Earlier, organizer Eddie Hearn said that the official announcement of the Usyk-Joshua rematch will happen soon.
