35-year-old Russian bare-fist fighter Alexander Severin, nicknamed Sever, who competed in the Best Dog Fighting Championship, told Sport24 reporter Yaroslav Stepanov how he was brutally tortured in prison. (We are talking about the years 2006 – 2013. – Note Sport24).
It was previously reported that Severin was sent to prison despite a solid excuse: “The issue was money. They bought everyone and everything.”
– Were there stories of them trying to “steal” something from you to force you to take responsibility for things you didn’t do?
– During the whole period … Well, not all, but half for sure. And from the first day they took me, the torture began. “Swallows” – who knows, knows. All kinds of suffocating tricks. Special measures were taken to beat the participations except me. But I couldn’t sign because other people close to me would suffer. And then for three or four years these people just couldn’t keep up with me and the other guys. They continued to apply pressure. Therefore, whoever saw my fights and me without a shirt, noticed the wounds, cuts – all these are echoes of that oppression, of oppression, of the struggle against injustice. Everything is from there.
Can you tell us a little more about the appearance of these scars? As a result of what they turned out to be?
– I prevented the unlawfulness they corrected by applying pressure through the administration. Well, mostly because the government has power there too. Also, there were precedents that “they” understood even when we were there. So, as crazy as it may sound, people have had the opportunity to enter the area. But grandmothers decide everything. And these cuts are just a method of countering: injuring yourself to avoid further effort, the more serious ones. It can be said that it costs some blood. This has happened over and over, but for three or four years.
“So you hurt yourself so you wouldn’t get hurt again?”
– Yes.
— And you mentioned the “Swallow” method. What is it?
– Chair. Hands and feet are tied. Thread the back and pull it in the purgatory. Cuffs on the back. They close their mouths. Eye bag. Well, in general, everything for which you have a lot of imagination … Here it is. And roughly speaking, you hang like a swallow. And you feel pain.
Is this the worst pain you’ve ever experienced in your life?
– Yes, it was painful. I fainted. My hands went numb for a few months because my wrists were crushed. So I lost consciousness from the pain, then they brought me back, they started talking to me. As a result, it was quite painful.
– Is this meant to lower a turnout?
– Yes.
“And you didn’t sign anything?”
– Not. I’ve never written a single entry in my life.
