Bivol could defend WBA title against Buatsi in the fall – promoter

Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol may make a voluntary defense of his WBA world title in a duel against Briton Joshua Buatsi, promoter Eddie Hearn has announced.
Bivol on May 7 in Las Vegas by unanimous decision defeated the absolute world champion in the second middleweight, the world champion in four weight categories Mexican Saul Alvarez. Only Bivol’s light heavyweight belt was at stake in the fight.
– The fight that we would like to organize for Bivol is a duel with Buatsi. We will be promoting it in September or October. I spoke with Buatsi. I think if Bivol wants to defend the title voluntarily, he will most likely face him,” Hearn said in an interview with the iFLTV YouTube channel.
In the professional ring, 31-year-old Bivol won 20 victories (11 by knockout) in 20 fights, 29-year-old Buatsi won all 16 fights (13 by knockout).
