Usyk-Joshua match could be postponed
Promoter of former WBO, IBF and WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) Eddie Hearn proposed revenge for the current titleholder and his ward Alexander Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) can be rescheduled.
The fight will be officially announced soon.
“We have already agreed on the place for revenge, now we are working on the date. The 23 July date is still in development. We will officially announce the challenge in the coming days.
The fight will take place in Saudi Arabia. Depending on the event date, a delay of 1-2 weeks is possible, as time is required for the full promotion of the event. But in any case, the war will definitely happen, both sides have accepted all the conditions.
Negotiations took 10 days longer than expected. We’re wrapping up the paperwork and you’ll soon know the date from the official announcement,” Hearn said.
It was previously known that in the rematch with Usyk, Joshua will be trained by a famous American coach.
