MMA fighter beat nurse to avoid covid shot
Brazilian UFC fighter Paulo Costa has been taken to the Belo Horizonte police station for an explanation after he allegedly elbowed a nurse over a vaccination certificate, G1 reported.
The incident happened on May 30th. According to police, Costa walked into a room designated for COVID-19 vaccinations and said he wanted to be vaccinated. When the certificate was completed, the athlete took it and decided to leave the premises without getting vaccinated. The nurse tried to stop the fighter, after which she was hit in the face with her elbow.
Costa himself told the security guard who arrived at the scene that he had been vaccinated, but the nurses would not let him out with a certificate. The fighter stated that this caused him stress, he took the card and was about to leave. At that moment, the nurse grabbed his arm, but he freed himself. According to the security guard, the athlete denies that he hit the medical worker.
It is noted that the victim did not need medical attention.
Costa is 31 years old. On account of the Brazilian 13 victories in 15 fights in MMA.
