“Kicked the shit out of him.” Fighter-fraudster from Ukraine paid hard for the deception of the UFC

Fake statistics did not help Askar Mozharov in a real fight. He didn’t even last a round.
The UFC Fight Night 207 tournament in Las Vegas is replete with names close to the Russian fan. Among them is the Ukrainian Askar Mozharov, whose debut in the main promotion of the world was marked by a loud scandal even before the fighter entered the octagon.
Mozharov paid dearly for the deceit.
Ukrainian career in the UFC began with a scandal
The 27-year-old fighter from Ukraine won the right to fight on the main card of the UFC tournament on the first try. His opponent was the experienced American Alonzo Menifield with a record of 11-3. As for Mozharov himself, strange metamorphoses have taken place with his statistics. The fighter, who was signed by the UFC with a record of 25-7, actually won only 19 fights with 12 losses.
The fact is that the early part of the career of an Odessa citizen passed under the name of Arthur Shadkov. He fought in semi-professional Chinese promotions, but for some reason the results counted. At the same time, not all of Arthur’s defeats were reflected in official statistics. The authoritative mixed martial arts portal Sherdog received letters from representatives of the fighter demanding that some negative results be removed.
At a press conference before the fight with Menefield, Mozharov had to explain both the fraud with the record and the name change. According to Askar, some of his unofficial defeats were added to the statistics, while many of his victories were not taken into account. And the name change was caused by the desire to pay tribute to the stepfather. Be that as it may, the atmosphere around Mozharov’s first fight in the UFC turned out to be as scandalous as possible.
Ukrainian scammer did not last a round
From the first seconds, the American rushed to prove the status of the favorite and, after an accurate hit in the head, transferred the opponent to the floor. Mozharov tried to minimize the damage by clasping his legs behind his opponent, but he did not force things and even received a command from the corner to act more actively.
At some point, Askar managed to free himself and return to the standing position. Inspired by local success, the Ukrainian did not become cautious, but rushed to Menifield. The American only needed this: he again made a successful takedown and this time succeeded on the ground. Alonzo blocked the opponent’s hand and began to inflict hard elbow strikes on the head. 19 seconds before the end of the first round, the referee was forced to stop beating. A bump appeared on Mozharov’s temple.
Mozharov pissed off his opponent with tricks with a record
When the Ukrainian came to his senses, a skirmish broke out between the fighters. Menefield, after the announcement of the winner, admitted that his opponent’s cheating with the record angered him.
– I fight for my family. And everyone who comes out here must understand what will happen to him. I beat the crap out of him,” Alonzo said.
After the scandal and heavy defeat, Mozharov should hardly count on a great career in the UFC. And if he is still given another chance, then the Ukrainian himself should think carefully about whether it is worth risking his health again.

2020 Olympics champion boxer Batyrgaziev decided to take a break from his career
Olympic champion and former interim WBA super featherweight champion Albert Batyrgaziev decided to take a break from his professional career.
At the beginning of July in Istanbul at the “IBA.PRO 8” tournament, Batyrgaziev lost early to the British James Dickens and lost the IBA.PRO champion and interim WBA champion titles in the second featherweight division. For the 27-year-old Russian, this was the first defeat in his professional career.
— I want to tell you honestly about my plans. Many people ask about their future career. Now I have decided to take a conscious break from my professional career. For me, boxing has been and remains a huge part of my life. Therefore, this choice is now very difficult. My whole sports life has been a race to the top: four Russian championships, an Olympic medal in Tokyo and then turning professional, where I went undefeated.
The last fight on July 2 was a turning point for me. The first defeat made me look at many things differently. I thank Allah for the trials and mercies that helped me become a better person. Since I have always felt a responsibility not only in the ring, but also before society, now is the time to become more active in projects that I have long planned, for example, supporting the development of sports infrastructure in my native regions. This doesn’t mean I’m saying goodbye to the ring. I remain an active boxer. But now all my work is outside of it. I thank everyone for their incredible support along this path: both in moments of triumph and in moments of challenge. She gives strength. I promise this new chapter will be just as honest and purposeful. I’m not saying goodbye, I’m just saying “goodbye,” Batyrgaziev wrote in the Telegram channel.
Batyrgaziev won gold in the weight category up to 57 kg at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. In the professional ring he has 12 wins and one loss.
