Surinamese MMA fighter Jairzinho Rozenstruik believes that the judges should not have stopped the fight against Russian Alexander Volkov at the UFC tournament in Las Vegas.
On Saturday, Rozenstruik lost to Volkov by technical knockout in the main fight of the UFC Fight Night 207 tournament. The fight was interrupted in the first round after a series of blows from Volkov.
– Hi all. A bit confused by how the fight went and disappointed that it got stopped. The situation was, of course, unsettling, but I was far from giving up. Someone lay on the ground with their eyes closed? That’s what we call a knockout.
Alexander and I just started exchanging powerful blows. What you all wanted to see! Many thanks to Alexander for accepting the fight. I have no serious injuries, I would like to enter the octagon again in the near future, – Rozenstruik wrote on social networks.
The defeat was the fourth in the 34-year-old Rozenstruik’s career in MMA. 33-year-old Volkov won 35 victories and lost 10 fights.
