McGregor burst into tears and ran out of the ring. Conor looked like an offended girl

McGregor is the most hated fighter in the UFC for a reason. He has been working on this image since the beginning of his career.

most hated fighter

Conor McGregor is still one of the most talked about fighters of our time, even despite the lack of fights in recent times. At the same time, most often the Irishman appears in the press and social networks in a negative way.

The status of the most hated UFC fighter was confirmed by a recent study conducted by the Bookmakers portal using artificial intelligence technologies. According to the results, almost a third of the comments with a negative message are devoted to McGregor. He leads the promotion in terms of this indicator, with a huge advantage ahead of Thiago Santos and T.J. Dillashaw.

But the dislike of social media users is a natural result of Conor’s entire career. If now the fighter manages to turn his jumps into shocking, then in the early stages of his career he behaved like a real hysteric.

Lost by submission in a minute

19-year-old Conor started vigorously in mixed martial arts. The first two fights of the Irishman ended with his victories by technical knockouts. Nothing foreshadowed trouble in the third battle.

The organizers tried to choose the most convenient opponent for the future UFC champion in two weight categories. As part of Cage of Truth 3, he met with a little-known Lithuanian athlete with Russian roots Artemy Sitenkov, who came to Ireland with a 5-4 record. Plus, the Lithuanian was much lighter than his opponent.

– My weight was 61 kg, and the fight was planned in weight up to 66 – this did not bother me. But then miracles began. Before weighing, I see McGregor, he sweats, loses weight. He comes to the weigh-in and immediately says: “Other scales are needed.” I still think so – why other scales? Okay, others bring it. He stands on them: 67.8 kg. Overweight almost two kilograms. He takes off his underpants – 66.6. I thought so – do panties weigh a kilogram? Some nonsense. And they ask me: “He has an overweight of 600 grams, do you agree to fight?” No problem, I say. When I stepped on these scales, they showed 59. And I knew for sure that my weight was 61 kg. That is, the scales were twisted to make it easier for the local fighter to fit into the weight, ”Artemy said in an interview with Match TV about the “miracles” at the weigh-in.

McGregor before the start of the fight was completely confident in his victory. He behaved impudently and defiantly, trying to psychologically break Sitenkov. Immediately after the start of the fight, he began to shout unpleasant things at the opponent.

– He behaved like a teenager, like a 19-year-old kid. He looked menacingly into his eyes and encouraged himself with hooligan behavior. But this is a teenager, what to take from him, – Sitenkov recalled the first minutes of the battle.

But Artemy did not lose his head. He quickly went into the body of the Irishman and transferred the fight to the ground, where he felt comfortable. On the ground, he competently tied McGregor’s dangerous hands, preventing him from striking.

After a few seconds, Conor nevertheless freed himself and began to beat the opponent. Artemy had to go on the defensive. Feeling the smell of blood, the Irishman simply forgot about caution, completely going on the attack. This played a cruel joke on him.

Having chosen the moment, Sitenkov grabbed the opponent’s leg and held a submission hold. McGregor did not last even five seconds, surrendering to the mercy of the winner. As a result, the fight ended as soon as the second hand made one turn.

Cried and ran out of the ring

The defeat came as a complete surprise to everyone except Artemy. Frustrated, Conor sat on the canvas for a long time before being picked up by the trainer. The stands were silent. After the Irishman got up and retreated to his corner, he did not hold back his emotions.

“McGregor cried, and the coach comforted him,” he spoke about the Irishman’s reaction to the defeat of the Sitenks.

Anger and pride, apparently, at that moment did not allow the losing MacGregor to behave with dignity when declaring the winner. After the judge raised Sitenkov’s hand, Artemy approached the Irishman to thank him for the fight, but Conor did not change himself even then. He acted like a little offended girl, completely ignoring his opponent.

During the award ceremony, he quickly left the ring and did not wait for the end of the ceremony, showing complete disrespect for the opponent and the auditorium, in which his numerous countrymen gathered.

Since then, nothing much has changed in McGregor’s behavior, except that excessive pathos has appeared, which at times causes only laughter.

Let’s bow our heads. 21-year-old boxer died on New Year’s Eve

Every day at 9 am, Ukrainians commemorate the people who lost their lives in the Russia-Ukraine war. Today Sport.ua recalls that 21-year-old Thai boxing master Vladislav Vakulenko, a very positive person, had great potential in the ring, but with the beginning of a full-scale invasion he decided to defend Ukraine. The fighter died exactly three years ago, on December 30, 2022, while conducting a combat mission near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.

Vladislav was born in Kiev and has been involved with sports since his childhood. Just six months before his tragic death, he received a diploma from the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine and dreamed of major competitions, medals and training future champions. In parallel with his studies, Vladislav trained in Muay Thai. The man hoped to return to training in the gym after the war.

Vladislav Vakulenko took up arms immediately after the Muscovites’ large-scale occupation of his territory. “We live with war! I understand that we live in a historical time when there are real brave comrades nearby, whose soul and body are eager for war… This is a time when you will remain a hero or die a hero,” he wrote on social networks.

His friends and coach remember Vlad as a man of light. He always smiled, joked, supported others, was a master of inspiration, did not make excuses, did not back down from difficulties. The friend wrote: “You’ve done more at this age than some have done in 50 or 60 years.” And Vlad’s mentor, Stanislav Voiten, recalls: “He did his best in training, gave his life in the fight against the invader. I am proud to have known him.”
