Finish in two rounds. Smith could not oppose Beterbiev anything
On the night of June 18-19, a championship fight took place at Madison Square Garden in New York.
In the fight for the WBC, the WBO and IBF light heavyweight titles fought Arthur Beterbiev (17-0, 17 KOs) and an American Joe Smith (28–3, 22 KOs).
The show was sponsored by Top Rank and Bob Arum. Beterbiev entered the fight under the Canadian flag and was booed by fans in New York.
There was no serious encounter in the ring. Smith missed a powerful punch in the first round and swam. In the second round, several collapses were recorded and then the referee stopped the fight.
Beterbiev earned his 18th career victory by technical knockout in the 2nd round.
