Islam Makhachev may not have really crossed paths with fighters who are higher than him in the UFC rating – except for Oliveira himself, these are Poirier and Gaethje. However, this does not mean at all that the 30-year-old Russian does not deserve a title fight. He has already led the card at UFC Fight Night, having successfully dealt with Thiago Moises, and after that he scored two more victories over strong opponents.
The world champion in combat sambo, whose prospects were flattered by Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, in principle, cannot be a passing opponent even for top-class fighters. Former world heavyweight champion (over 90.7 kg), American Deontay Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs) shared his expectations for the upcoming fight against WBC, WBA and IBF titleholder Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs).
