LEWIS: Vitali Klitschko in the biggest challenge of his life
Former world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis, on the anniversary of his epic fight with Vitali Klitschko, expressed his admiration for the Ukrainian, noting that at the moment he is fighting the main struggle of his life.
“In normal times, I would write an article dedicated to the anniversary of our quarrel with Vitali Klitschko. But today I just want to congratulate him. He is in the biggest battle of his life. The sacrifices he makes to serve his citizens is not only respect, but admiration.
It takes great courage to enter the boxing ring. As fighters, we know that every fight can be our last. But the courage to stand up for your country and your citizens requires a different level of courage and love. I congratulate you my friend. God bless you and bless you with peace, love and happiness,” wrote the Briton.
The duel between Lennox Lewis and Vitali Klitschko took place 19 years ago, on June 21, 2003. The Briton won by technical knockout due to a strong cut from the Ukrainian player. For Lennox, this fight was the final battle of a legendary career.
