Criminal groups announced a hunt for an undefeated athlete.

Australia is deservedly considered one of the most peaceful and prosperous places on the planet. Local police effectively fight crime, but it is not possible to completely eradicate crime even here. From time to time, really cruel showdowns happen in the country.

Recently, a well-known boxer on the continent became the victim of an armed attack in Australia. The other day, Suleiman won a powerful victory over a Russian athlete, and now he can end his career.

The bullets hit several of the boxer’s vital organs.

Boxing career in jeopardy

Australian boxer Suleiman “Sam” Abdulrahim does not know the bitterness of defeat in the boxing ring. The athlete has six fights behind him and not a single loss.

The last time the athlete entered the ring on May 28. Abdulrahim’s opponent was Russian boxer Viktor Oganov (32-10-0), who now lives in Australia. Opponents spent all six planned rounds in the ring, but the strongest was obvious: Suleiman won with a total advantage on points.

A confident victory over an experienced boxer could give a serious boost to the Australian’s career, but the tragic incident put Suleiman’s further performances into question.

Last Saturday, Abdulrahim was returning with friends from the funeral. When the boxer’s car was in a traffic jam, he was suddenly attacked. The attackers rolled up in the oncoming lane in an SUV, fired at the car and disappeared.

The driver of the car in which the athlete was, drove the victims to the nearest police station, where they were given first aid. After that, Suleiman was taken to the hospital with several gunshot wounds. Doctors assessed his condition as serious but stable. The boxer has already undergone several operations to remove bullets from the body. According to the Australian media, during the assassination attempt, the lungs, liver and kidney were damaged.

Vicious links with crime

Abdulrahim can hardly be called a law-abiding citizen. It is known for certain that the athlete was serving a three-year sentence in an Australian prison for a fatal accident. Exceeding the speed limit by 50 kilometers led to the death of an elderly woman in 2015. A few months before this incident, Suleiman also got into the criminal chronicle after a street fight with a kickboxer, but then he just got off with a fine.

Abdulrahim’s criminal connections are also actively discussed in the Australian press. Previously, he was a member of a criminal gang with the original name “Mongols”. The media claim that he has repeatedly participated in criminal showdowns of rival gangs. But this year, Suleiman decided to cut ties with the underworld.

Sources of The Age newspaper claim that at least five groups had reason to attack the boxer on Saturday. Among the possible customers of the assassination are even former comrades of Abdulrahim in the gang of “Mongols”.

So far, the police have not been able to detain the attackers who attacked the athlete in broad daylight. However, the country’s law enforcement agencies assure that the investigation is already nearing its end.
