MMA fighter Jeff Monson explained why he considers himself Russian, despite the fact that he was born in the USA.
Russian citizenship was approved for Monson in December 2015 and granted by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on May 28, 2018. Monson is a member of the council of deputies of the urban district of Krasnogorsk from the United Russia party.
– There is talk that you are not a real Russian. And in general, this patriotism is not true. Didn’t that offend you?
What have I already done? I am a deputy. I help people who have lost their apartments. I have a Russian and LPR passport. I went to Donetsk and Luhansk many times, helped people there. He opened a free school in Lugansk, opened two sports schools in Ufa and one in Krasnogorsk. All are free. I help people in Russia. Well, who am I, if not Russian? I am Russian. Ok, I don’t speak Russian very well. But I try, I try. I will talk soon. I don’t go to America now. Live here. My family is in Ufa. The wife is Russian. I am Russian.
– You said that you have a passport of the Luhansk People’s Republic. And the American one?
– I will hand over all the documents. Maybe in a month. All documents, now I’m just waiting.
Do you really want to give up everything?
“Yes, I’ll hand over everything,” Komsomolskaya Pravda quoted Monson as saying.

Olympic champion and former interim WBA super featherweight champion Albert Batyrgaziev decided to take a break from his professional career.
At the beginning of July in Istanbul at the “IBA.PRO 8” tournament, Batyrgaziev lost early to the British James Dickens and lost the IBA.PRO champion and interim WBA champion titles in the second featherweight division. For the 27-year-old Russian, this was the first defeat in his professional career.

Batyrgaziev won gold in the weight category up to 57 kg at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. In the professional ring he has 12 wins and one loss.

Russian UFC fighter Arman Tsarukyan said that he will give his compatriot Sharabutdin Magomedov, nicknamed Shara Bullet, an apartment in Yerevan if he defeats him in a grappling fight.
The fight is scheduled for December 30 and should take place in Yerevan.
“If Shara wins against me, then I will personally give him an apartment in Yerevan,” Tsarukyan said in a video published on the Red Corner MMA page on the X social network.
