In the world of boxing, the closeness of the relationship between coaches and their students is legendary. Sometimes for boxers, the specialists who raised them are almost closer than their own parents.

But sometimes such relationships can lead to real drama. So, as a result of a tragic set of circumstances, a well-deserved boxing coach can go to jail for many years after an attack on his pupil.

“They wanted to rob him at home”

Boris Ryleev – Honored boxing coach. For many years of work, he raised more than one generation of children in the Zheleznodorozhny district of Yekaterinburg. Now the specialist is 78 years old, and he is on a well-deserved rest.

But, according to the testimonies of acquaintances, in recent years, the coach could only dream of peace. He had a strained relationship with the son of a concubine. The stepson regularly delivered Ryleev a lot of inconvenience by using illegal substances. Driven to despair, the coach repeatedly threatened the offender with violence. As people close to the family say, the wife even had to hide the ax from Boris.

Until recently, relatives protected the coach from crime. But in mid-July, information appeared that Ryleev had been arrested. Initially, it was reported that a person who allegedly tried to rob his apartment, but received a tough rebuff, wrote a statement to the specialist. This caused a wide public outcry in Yekaterinburg. From the information of the E1.RU portal, one might think that the mentor was arrested for attacking an attacker.

But the details of what happened later cause mixed feelings. For people who were closely acquainted with Ryleev, it was no secret that he abused alcohol. One day, his former pupil named Sergey came to visit the specialist, with whom they drank a lot.

In order not to return home drunk, the guest stayed overnight in the former coach’s apartment and settled down on the floor in the corridor.

– At night, Boris woke up and went to drink water, saw a sleeping man and decided that it was Igor. He took a hammer and hit Sergei on the head several times. And then he went and told his wife about it. She called an ambulance, the police arrived, – the portal E1.RU gives a story about what happened from an acquaintance of Ryleev.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but doctors managed to save his life. He is currently recovering from his injuries. Upon the fact of the attack, the police were forced to open a criminal case. Now the specialist faces a long term.

It also turned out that the information about the three-day detention of the coach in the police department is not true. Law enforcement agencies reported that the trainer who attacked the pupil is in a temporary detention center.

The most surprising thing about this story is that a few days after Ryleev’s arrest, local media reported that his stepson, who gave the specialist problems, died of an overdose.
