Dynamo Moscow midfielder Arsen Zakharyan will not move to London Chelsea in the summer transfer window, the press service of the Blues has reported.
The Blue and White have received an offer from Chelsea for the transfer of 19-year-old Zakharyan in the amount of 15 million euros. It was later reported in the media that any attempt by the London club to make a payment on Zakharian would be blocked due to the restrictions placed on the Russian economy.
– On August 25, Dynamo received an offer from the English football club Chelsea regarding the transfer of midfielder Arsen Zakharyan. The interest of one of the strongest clubs in the world to the graduate of our club academy is a high assessment of the quality of training of young Dynamo football players and Arsene’s playing progress.
Substantive negotiations were going on between Dynamo and Chelsea for several days, in which our club took a constructive position. However, due to a number of technical reasons beyond our control, it is not possible to transfer the player to this summer transfer window. However, our club remains open to offers that will suit Dynamo and the footballer,” the Moscow club said in a statement.
Last season, Zakharyan played 34 matches, scored nine goals and made nine assists in all competitions. The midfielder was recognized as the best young player according to the Russian Football Union.
