Former PARI NN head coach Alexander Kerzhakov expressed hope that Chelsea would not stop watching Dynamo midfielder Arsen Zakharyan, despite the failed transfer of the Russian football player.
On Thursday, Dynamo announced that they had received an offer from Chelsea for Zakharyan, but the transfer could not be completed in the summer transfer window due to “technical problems”. Earlier it was reported that the English club offered 15 million euros for the 19-year-old midfielder.
– Is the interest of a club like Chelsea a big event in Zakharyan’s career?
– Let’s put it this way: the fact that Chelsea drew attention to Zakharyan is, of course, great. Of course, I would like the transition to take place. I hope this interest will not disappear, will not weaken, and Arsene will move to one of the best teams in the world. It would have been much better to watch Zakharyan play in England rather than read the news about a possible transfer.
Do you think Chelsea will come back for him?
– I would like that. But it does not depend on how I think, but on the player himself, how he will continue to show himself.
– Does Arsene have enough talent to play in one of the best leagues in the world?
It’s a tough question, I can’t really answer it. Some are ready and some are not.
– But it’s good for our championship that a player of such a level as Zakharyan will continue to play for Dynamo?
– Personally, I think it would be better if he could go to Chelsea, try himself in the English Premier League. It would be very interesting to watch this,” Rossiyskaya Gazeta quoted Kerzhakov as saying.
Zakharyan has been playing for the Dynamo main team since 2020, according to the results of the last season, he was recognized as the best young player according to the RFU, and in 2021 he received the Top Five award for the best young player in the RPL. Zakharyan has four matches for the Russian national team.
