‘The current owner of Chelsea is making the same mistakes as Abramovich’ – ex-Liverpool player

Former Liverpool player Graeme Souness has spoken out about Chelsea’s summer transfer campaign, which made some expensive signings.
– The current owner of the club, Todd Boely, seems to be making the same mistakes as his predecessor, Abramovich. In his rush and enthusiasm to attract Chelsea fans, he has just spent almost £300m in the summer transfer market, pretending to do everything himself. I really hope that I am wrong in this assessment.
Unless you have a bottomless pit, the money they spent on Marc Cucurella is meaningless considering Chelsea already had Marcos Alonso, Ben Chilwell and, after all, Reece James in the same position.
Cucurella improved them that much? I do not think so. Chelsea only seemed to take him because Manchester City needed him.
We live in a generation where everything should be “today” and not “tomorrow”. A generation in which the popularity of football surpasses everything we knew. In an ideal world, you buy players of the right age, knowing that they will only get better in five, six, seven or eight years. But now it’s all gone, — quotes the words of the veteran Daily Mail.
