“Litvinov’s ankle is very swollen, Martins has muscle damage” – Abascal about injuries to Spartak players after the match with Zenit
Spartak defender Ruslan Litvinov will miss at least a week due to an ankle injury, midfielder Christopher Martins suffered muscle damage in a match with Zenit St. Petersburg, head coach of the Red-Whites Guillermo Abascal said at a post-match press conference.
On Sunday, Spartak lost to Zenit in the match of the 8th round of the WORLD RPL with a score of 1:2. In the second half, Litvinov and Martins were replaced due to damage to the Red-Whites. Both players left the field in an electric car.
I don’t know about Martins. This is muscle damage. Litvinov’s ankle was swollen badly, a hematoma the size of a soccer ball. If we evaluate positively, then he will miss at least a week. And then we’ll see,” said Abascal.
Zenit has 20 points and the first place in the RPL standings, Spartak is fifth with 16 points.
In the next round, Spartak will play an away match with Rostov, Zenit will play at home with Orenburg. Both matches will be played on September 11th.
