The Russian Premier League (RPL) has confirmed the filing of claims against foreign companies with the Moscow Arbitration Court for failure to fulfill obligations to pay for licenses for international broadcasting, the amount of claims exceeds 53 million rubles.
Lawsuits have been filed against WinPower (China), Radio e Televisao Bandeirantes (Brazil), Sportradar (Switzerland) and GOL TV Latin America.
– RPL really faced the problem of non-fulfillment of obligations by our counterparties, who did not pay the league for licenses for international broadcasting. We provided services, but did not receive money for them, so we are trying to resolve this situation within the legal framework. RPL clubs have been notified of the existence of this debt and that the league is trying to recover it through the courts.
We are talking about four companies-contractors, their debt to the league is a total of 53.3 million rubles. The hearing on the first lawsuit against Gol TV Latinamerica (the territory of Latin America and the Caribbean) in the amount of 13.2 million rubles is scheduled for October 24;
WinPower (licensed in mainland China and Macau) owes RPL 2.4 million rubles, Radio e Televisao Bandeirantes (Brazil) – 3.5 million rubles, Swiss company Sportradar – 34.2 million rubles.
We assess our chances of collecting debts from counterparties as high, – quotes the statement of the press service of the Match TV league.
