Goalkeeper Maxim Rudakov explained why he did not make it to the “Zenith”
The goalkeeper of the Finnish “Honka” Maxim Rudakov told Sport24 why he failed to break into the composition of the St. Petersburg “Zenith”, of which he is a pupil.
– You were considered one of the most promising goalkeepers of Zenit, but you didn’t grow up to the base.
– Wasn’t ready for it. Yes, he was talented: he could drag some unreal ball. And for someone not to give me a chance or something like that – no. He competed with different goalkeepers – from Malafeev and Lodygin to Lunev and Kerzhakov. But the coaches are not enemies to put those who are weaker, – said Rudakov.
The 26-year-old has made 21 appearances this season in the Finnish league, keeping eight clean sheets.
