Chelsea’s new owner, Todd Boehleywho has been in charge of the team for a few months, has surprised the Premier League by sacking his manager, Thomas Tuchel, after just seven games into the season. Defeat by Dinamo Zagreb, in his Champions League debut, was the end of the German coach.

The warning signs were there, as Tuchel had complained about his squad since their pre-season tour of the United States, but the move was still a surprise. Tuchel should at least have been given time to sort things out, despite defeats to Southampton and Leeds United.

Much more after a heavy transfer market, in which the London club invested the most: 296 million euros. the blues they paid 81 million Wesley Fofana65 per Marc Cucurella56 per Raheem Sterling and 38 for kalidou kulibalimajor purchases that were clearly aimed at rearming its defense line.

Tuchel leaves the club with an unexpected slump at international level and with 10 points, five behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, after six games.

Who will be the Chelsea manager after Thomas Tuchel is sacked?

Graham Potter

Graham Potter, Brighton

Potter is the early favorite to take over as Chelsea manager after being given permission by his current club to hold talks. He has led Brighton to a brilliant start to the Premier League seasonwith four wins and a draw in the club’s first six games, losing only to Fulham, another of the early surprises, at the end of August.

Potter’s Brighton calling card has been a defensive structure that keeps opponents at bay, preventing Leeds United, Newcastle and West Ham from scoring and keeping Manchester United to just one goal.

The 47-year-old manager was bailed out of Swansea in 2019 and has led them seagulls safely in each of his first three seasons at the club, including a ninth-placed finish last season, the club’s best in the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino

Pochettino has been out of work since leaving PSG in the summer after one season in charge. His time in Paris was brief, with news of dressing room brawls and clashes with senior management plaguing his time at the club. However, this need not directly affect Pochettino as PSG have been known to suffer from malfunctions since their ownership group arrived in Qatar.

Although the 50-year-old Argentine has an excellent CV, with brilliant results at Southampton and Tottenham, Pochettino will have to answer questions about his departure from both Spurs and PSG.with reports that he has run his teams through a very demanding pressing style.

It is claimed that, like Potter, Pochettino has already been contacted by Chelsea to discuss his bid.

Zinedine Zidane

Although the former Real Madrid manager’s CV is absolutely impeccable and his recruitment would be a triumph of incredible proportions, it seems unlikely that Zidane will end up at Stamford Bridge.

The former France international is believed to only want a place at the helm of the France national team.as Didier Deschamps is expected to step down after the 2022 World Cup. However, luring him now to take the Chelsea job would be a huge blow to Boehly and the club’s new ownership group.

Brendan Rodgers

If Boehly was looking for a coach a year ago, Rodgers would surely be at the top of his list. The 49-year-old former Liverpool and Celtic manager had just guided Leicester City to fifth in the Premier League, taking the foxes were crowned FA Cup champions and narrowly missed out on the UEFA Champions League.

Now, after last season’s respectable eighth-place finish, the club have managed to sit bottom of the Premier League table with just one point from the first six games of the season. Rodgers has his own problems to deal with at Leicester City before he can build on his achievements with foxes to gain any kind of high-level managerial position.

Also, his arrival probably wouldn’t be welcomed by fans so it seems unlikely.

Only signature missing for Graham Potter to be DT

Negotiations with Graham Potter They appear to have come to fruition, according to various reports in England, and the Brighton manager will move to London to command Chelsea’s fortunes. Although the move won’t be cheap on his priests Blues.

It turned out that Potter’s departure will cost them €20 millionand thus became the second most expensive manager in history, after Bayern Munich paid Leipzig 25 million for Julian Nagelman. As for the Potter-Chelsea personal contract, there have been no major developments yet.

That same Thursday, September 8, Potter will hold a press conference to announce his departure from his current team.

Captain of Crystal Palace Marco Guehi set to join Liverpool at the end of the season. The England international’s contract expires in June and there are no plans to renew it.

Liverpool had already made a bid of £35 million in the last window, but the Londoners canceled the deal just hours before the transfer window closed. Sky Sports reports that Guehi remains interested in a move to Anfield and that a “gentleman’s agreement” has been reached between the two parties for the move to take place in the summer.

However, the situation could still change if Palace decide to cash in during the January transfer window. In addition to Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also interested in Guehi, who will make an offer next month.
