The first vice-president of Lukoil, Alexander Matytsyn, began working at Spartak Moscow as president of the football club, RBC Sport reports.
According to the publication, Matytsyn gets acquainted with the current state of affairs in the club. The general director of the Red-Whites, Evgeny Melezhikov, and the technical coordinator of the team, Artem Rebrov, are already coordinating the final decisions on the team’s newcomers with Matytsyn, as, for example, was done when Keith Balde joined the team.
In the coming days, Lukoil will determine the timing of the announcement of the appointment of Matytsyn. It is noted that some employees of Spartak are dissatisfied with the current situation in the club.
“It is not known whether there will be cuts, whether employees will remain, how many people will come to the club, how work will change,” said one of the sources at the club.
Lukoil has been the general sponsor of Spartak for more than 20 years. On August 22, the company announced the acquisition of a 100% stake in the football club, as well as the Otkritie Bank Arena stadium. Leonid Fedun, in connection with his withdrawal from the shareholders, left the posts of chairman of the board of directors and president of Spartak. Lukoil noted that he would no longer take part in the management of the club.
