Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his condolences on the death of Queen Elizabeth II, calling the UK home.
On Thursday, Elizabeth II, who ruled the country for more than 70 years, died at the age of 96.
– Seven years of my career have passed in the Premier League, this season is the eighth when I live in England. Throughout all these years, I have felt the eternal love of the UK for their Queen and how important Her Majesty has been and always will be to the British people. I pay tribute to her memory and mourn this irreparable loss along with the country that I have learned to call home. My thoughts and prayers are with the royal family,” Ronaldo wrote on the social network.
Previously, the 37-year-old Portuguese played for Manchester United in the English Premier League from 2003 to 2009. In the summer of 2021, he returned to the camp of the Red Devils.
