Monaco midfielder Alessandro Golovin shared his opinion on the development of his career.
Are there any career decisions I regret? Absolutely no. I am very happy that I have nothing to regret and I think: how did I decide that? In different situations, many people have told me many different, sometimes contradictory things. And I understood, and I was warned that this would be the case. You just have to understand that everyone has their own opinion, but I am still responsible for my decisions. Because the soul lay – and it did.
Can I already define my successful career? I want to win the title in Europe. Championship or Cup. I cannot say that there is a goal to move to the most important club in the world. I’ll call it a bonus for a successful career: if it works, it’s fine, if it doesn’t work, it’s not a problem. Monaco is also a top club. Yes, not Real Madrid, Man City and Barcelona, there is already a super top. But still a top-level team.
Did you dream of Real Madrid or Barcelona as a child? I remember that as a child in Leninsk-Kuznetsky, the boys always swore between Real Madrid and Barca. Fans of these two clubs were roughly divided equally. They also communicated within their groups. When the classic started, they sat in two groups. I have not been with either one or the other. For some reason, I’ve always dreamed of: playing for the Russian national team. Even when I was little my mother recorded on a dictaphone when I said: “Mum save, soon I’ll go to the national team to play!”
