Former Spartak striker Luca Barrios announced his retirement on social media.
I wanted to let all my fans know that the time has come that I didn’t even know it existed: I’m saying goodbye to professional football. For 20 years I have given my all for every team I have played for. Everything could have been good or bad, but I have always given everything to demonstrate over the years the professionalism that every club deserves.
Today my long career ends, but I won’t say goodbye because I will still be linked to football. My new adventure will be the job of a coach. I hope to continue to count on your support in my new challenge. Thanks to all the clubs who have called me with offers to continue my career, but my decision has already been made.
The rights to Barrios belonged to Spartak from 2013 to 2015. During this period, he spent 20 games for the red and white, in which he scored 2 goals. In Europe, the striker is known for playing for Borussia Dortmund and Montpellier.
