Football coach Gadzhi Gadzhiev considers the appointment of a friendly match between the national teams of Russia and Bosnia and Herzegovina a good sign, but he does not rely too much on the participation of Russians in Euro 2024.
On Friday, the Bosnian Football Union announced that the national team of their country and Russia will play on November 19 in St. Petersburg. The Russian Football Union (RFU) has officially confirmed that an agreement in principle has been reached on holding a friendly match with the Bosnian team.
“Of course, the friendly match between our team and Bosnia and Herzegovina is a good sign,” Hajiyev told Sport24. – We hope that in the near future the rest will also understand that political sanctions should not prevent people from continuing their lives, including in sports.
– Did this increase the chances of the Russian team to participate in Euro 2024?
– The chances are still small due to the current situation.
Earlier, the RFU announced that Russia would play a friendly match with Kyrgyzstan in Bishkek on September 24. It was also reported that the RFU agreed to hold an away match with Iran in November.
