Former CSKA youth team coach Alexander Grishin does not believe that Krasnodar midfielder Eduard Spertsyan would be a key performer in the Russian national team.
Since March last year, Spertsyan has been playing for the Armenian national team.
– No one is guilty. Each athlete makes a choice at a certain point in time. Now nothing can be changed. Spertsyan will play for another national team. If Spertsyan had played for the Russian national team, would he have been the main one? There are a lot of good players in the team. I am sure that in the next two meetings, Valery Karpin would give absolutely everyone the opportunity to prove themselves. But at the same time, I don’t think that Spertsyan would be one of the key performers, ”Grishin told RT.
22-year-old Spertsyan is a graduate of Krasnodar. This season, he played 9 matches for the team, scored 7 goals and made 2 assists. For the Armenian national team, the footballer played 12 matches and scored 2 goals.
