John Cordoba should be like an anger management course.
Football is an emotional game. In such a contact sport, conflicts are simply inevitable. However, sometimes emotions take precedence over reason, and people do things that make even an outside observer ashamed.
Just such an incident occurred in the under-tribune room of the VEB Arena immediately after the final whistle in the CSKA-Krasnodar match. Striker guests John Cordoba, very dissatisfied with the refereeing, told the referees everything that was on his mind. One problem – Cordoba had very dirty expressions in his soul.
Such words are not worth even a hundred penalties!
Parade of penalty kicks
The players of “Krasnodar” have a reason to be upset. In the match with CSKA, the penalty kick was hit four times. First, Fedor Chalov broke free one-on-one after a rebound from Nikita Krivtsov’s leg and was knocked down by Matvey Safonov. Olusegun then accidentally punched Jorge Carrascal in the leg. And already in the second half, the unlucky Kayo jumped out at the interception, spreading his arms as if celebrating something. Not surprisingly, one of the Brazilian’s limbs ended up finding the ball. After that, the penalty had to be interrupted due to Safonov’s early exit from the gate – in fact, four penalties in total. Judge Sergey Ivanov became a real hero of the day.
Open video
If we talk objectively, then of all the penalties, only the first one can, if desired, find fault. So Ivanov at first showed a yellow card to Chalov for the simulation and, only after consulting with the video assistant, changed his mind. Otherwise, Krasnodar can only blame itself for the failure. The bulls’ defenders acted extremely laxly and made stupid mistakes. All these penalties could have been avoided if the defense of the guests was more organized and collected.
Ripped off anger
When you are angry with someone, it is important to understand: is it really this person who causes anger? Maybe I’m really mad at myself? John Cordoba didn’t have time to do that kind of analysis. After the final whistle, he immediately went to the sub-tribune room, where he decided to speak with the judges in a raised voice.
At that moment, the Colombian hardly thought that he was being filmed by cameras. Therefore, without any hesitation, he “ran into” the arbitrators. After the defeat with a score of 1:4, of course, it is not easy for everyone, but it is difficult to find an excuse for such language.
“Fuck, they are all bastards, shitty referees,” Aleksey Kovalev, correspondent of Match TV, conveys the words of the player in his Telegram channel.
However, experts hardly made out the Colombian’s swearing: Cordoba expressed himself in his native Spanish. But the player later turned directly to Ivanov in English, apparently wanting to be heard. According to the correspondent, the forward mockingly asked the referee: “Maybe you will put another penalty?” How exactly the referee reacted is unknown.
However, now that the player’s behavior has hit the Web, he may well be sanctioned. Rumors about the Colombian’s angry tirade will surely reach the relevant authorities. Or will there be epithets for these judges too?
