Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen came to the defense of his opponent Jeremias Ledesma after German television ridiculed the Cadiz goalkeeper for failing to stop a shot from Ousmane Dembele.
The meeting took place on Saturday at the Cadiz stadium and ended in favor of the guests with a score of 4:0. In the match, an incident occurred with a fan in the 81st minute when the score was 2:0. Referee Del Cerro Grande sent the players to the locker rooms as doctors tried to resuscitate the fan. Ledesma then rushed to the touchline to help quickly deliver a defibrillator to a fan who was having a heart attack.
The German DAZN left a post on social networks during the match after the fourth goal, showing the moment of scoring, with the caption: “When your best friend is in the opponent’s goal.”
Ter Stegen expressed dissatisfaction with the post, writing: “Inappropriate and disrespectful. For the hundredth time! Shame on you”.
DAZN later deleted the post and apologized. They claimed they did not know that an emergency medical service had been called to the stands. “We apologize for the inappropriate post about the match between Cadiz and Barça that we removed. We only saw the goals and published them, and did not know about the serious events that had already happened in the game. We wish the injured a speedy recovery.”
