Former Chelsea captain John Terry has revealed how he was forced to sell the car by then team captain Dennis Wise.

“At the time, Wise was the captain of the club. I remember that I was in the first team and received bonuses. I went and stupidly bought a car for a bonus. At that time I was 19 years old. I arrive by car, and Wise grabbed me by the throat in the corridor in front of everyone and said: “Who do you think you are?”. I’m really grateful for all these little things, for guiding young players,” Terry said in an interview with the Footballers Guide to Football podcast.

Terry became a Chelsea club legend with 717 appearances for the team from 1998 to 2017.
