The Bosnian Football Union announced its readiness to play with the Russian national team after Serbia
A member of the executive committee of the Bosnian Football Union, Azmir Huzic, who had previously opposed a friendly match with the Russian national team, said he was ready to agree to such a game if the Russians first played with the Serbian team.
On September 9, the Bosnian Football Union announced that the national team of their country and Russia will play on November 19 in St. Petersburg. The communications service of the Russian Football Union announced that they had reached an agreement in principle to hold the match.
– Once Serbia and Croatia play friendly matches with Russia this year, I agree that we will do the same next. The two countries mentioned are stronger than us, both economically and in everything else. My suggestion is that after Serbia we will be the first to play a friendly match with Russia. Because they are closer to Moscow, they are further to the East than we are,” Sport Avaz quotes Khuzich.
In addition to Huzic, the game was opposed by the leaders of the Bosnian national team Edin Dzeko and Miralem Pjanic, as well as the vice-president of the Bosnian Football Union Irfan Duric and technical director of the national team Zvezdan Misimovic.
