Zavarzin: “Does Spartak have a positive future? Why not?”

Former CEO of Spartak Yuri Zavarzin spoke about the prospects of the “red-whites”.

A positive future for Spartak? Why not? It all depends on who will join the club’s governing bodies. If such a person enters who understands football a little better than Fedun, then everything will go wrong. And if the existing leadership is smart enough not to interfere with the football process, then there will be an outcome.

Now there is a good coach, which is already an advantage: last year with this squad they took the tenth place, and this year they are among the first.

The problem of financing remains. Because the club’s budget is not just income, salary and money for transfers, but also the stadium, the base, the school. You have to get money somewhere, but you can’t earn it now: there is no Champions League and 20-30 million. There is no place for a football team to take money to offset that part of the expenses which, like a snowball, falls on Spartak. And if the state allows itself to pay for it, then Spartak has prospects for the future.
