Spartak announced the dates of the postponed matches of the two rounds of the Russian Football Cup

The matches of the fifth and sixth rounds of the group stage of the Russian Football Cup, which will be postponed due to the games of the Russian national team, will be held on November 23 and 27, said Evgeny Melezhikov, general director of Spartak Moscow.

Earlier, most of the MIR RPL clubs supported the idea of ​​postponing the games of the two rounds of the Russian Cup, originally scheduled for November 8–10 and November 18–20, to the end of November. This month, the Russian national team should play a test match with the team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and another friendly game is also scheduled.

— Are you satisfied with the new format of the Cup?

I can’t say bad things, he’s interesting. As for the attention of fans and attendance, it leaves much to be desired. The next match in the Cup – with Zenit – is scheduled for 20:30, I think that the fan will react positively. I hope the interest will increase,” Melezhikov told RB Sport.

– Why did you vote not to postpone the last two rounds of the Cup group stage?

– This is the opinion of the head coach, which I broadcast. The opinion is based primarily on the fact that it makes no sense to extend the period of the games – in his opinion, the motivation will be minimal at the end of the autumn period. On the other hand, we will work on motivation, our task is to play. We were ready for the decision that most clubs made. The dates of the matches, as far as I know, are November 23 and 27. So we will play.
