Spartak Moscow midfielder Keita Balde has been suspended by the National Anti-Doping Court of Italy for three months due to a violation of the doping control procedure while playing for the Italian Cagliari, the press service of the Moscow club reports.
The suspension of the 27-year-old football player ends on December 5, 2022.
“There were no banned substances found in the sample taken from Keith that day. However, in accordance with the disciplinary code, any doping-related sanction imposed by another national or international sports association, national anti-doping organization, is automatically accepted by FIFA and must be recognized by all confederations and associations.
Accordingly, the sanction applied by the Italian Anti-Doping Organization is subject to recognition by the RFU. Under the terms of the disqualification, the player will be able to return to the training process no earlier than 22 days before the expiration of the sentence, Spartak said in a statement.
In the summer, Balde signed a three-year contract with Spartak and made his debut for the club in the eighth round match of the MIR Russian Premier League with Zenit (1:2).
Earlier, Balde was called up to the Senegal national team for the September training camp and test games with the Bolivian national team (September 24) and the Iranian team (September 27).
