Sochi head coach Vadim Garanin believes that the team is capable of repeating the success of the last season of the WORLD RPL.
Earlier, club president Boris Rotenberg said that the club’s task is not to repeat the result of the last season, in which Sochi took 2nd place.
– Probably, Boris Romanovich is a little disingenuous. It is impossible that the head of the club, who has gone through such a difficult but successful path in four years, could not, in the depths of his soul, not want to be always in medals. I think that both Boris Romanovich and General Director Dmitry Viktorovich Rubashko understand and hope that we will be no worse than last year.
Our football is generally difficult. You have to prove it all the time. Second place is a big success. It is impossible to take fifth, and then second place by accident. These are the fruits of all efforts. But the situation is such that it is a little easier to take these places than to repeat them later. Therefore, the question of how we will work is very big. We want to repeat the result, to be with medals for our fans. We want to please them.
Almost a third of the season has passed. Feels like you can repeat last year’s result?
– We have very strong players in the team. There are people who are no weaker than the guys from other clubs. They proved it with their performance last season. So I feel like it’s real. Very difficult. But it’s not easy for anyone. Therefore, everything will depend only on us, how we will play out in the transitional episodes, whether we will withstand two halves, ”RB Sport” quotes Garanin.
Sochi, after nine rounds, scored 16 points and is in 7th place. As part of the 10th round on Sunday, the club will play at home with Fakel Voronezh. The meeting will start at 16:30. You can follow the progress of the game on the air of the MATCH PREMIER channel and on the sites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
