Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo received a red card in the ninth second of the home match of the 8th round of the French championship against Angers.
The meeting took place on Sunday and ended with the score 1:0 in favor of the guests. According to L’Equipe, Todibo broke the rules against the hosts striker Abdalla Sim in the sixth second, and the referee sent off the player in the ninth.
Statistics Opta notes that this is the fastest card in Ligue 1 since at least 2006. In 2017, in a match between the Argentine clubs Rosario Central and Godoy Cruz, defender Fernando was also sent off for a rough foul at the 9th second.
Todibo previously played for Barcelona, which loaned the player several times. Nice bought the transfer of the 22-year-old Frenchman last summer. This season, the defender has made 10 appearances in all competitions without scoring.
