The ex-president of Lokomotiv called the removal of Russia from the draw for EURO 2024 “a shameful phenomenon in football”

Former president of Lokomotiv Nikolai Naumov spoke about the decision of UEFA not to allow the Russian team to qualify for the European Championship in 2024.
Earlier, the press service of the RFU officially announced the non-admission of the Russian team.
– The non-admission of Russia to the draw did not come as a surprise to me. I didn’t even give one percent that UEFA would decide something in our favor. Apparently, they are completely politicized. I was sure that we would not be allowed to the upcoming European Championship, – quotes the words of Naumov “Championship”.
– How much longer will we be suspended from the competition?
“I used to say five or six years. Now, I think even longer. The removal of Russia from Euro 2024 is a shameful phenomenon in football. We have always rejoiced at football and said that sport is out of politics, but we have always been condemned.
