The goalkeeper of the Samara “Wings of the Soviets” Ivan Lomaev will not fly with the Russian national team to a friendly match against the team of Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the RFU reports.
Four goalkeepers were called up for the September training camp before the game: in addition to Lomaev, these are Anton Shunin (Dynamo), Mikhail Kerzhakov (Zenit) and Matvey Safonov (Krasnodar).
– The coaching staff of the national team decided that it makes no sense to take four goalkeepers to one friendly game at once, so it was decided to leave Lomaev in Russia. Very pleased with his work and attitude. We called him to get to know each other better in the training process, spent a lot of time in the theory room watching his games. I hope that Ivan will continue to progress, – said Vitaly Kafanov, goalkeeping coach of the Russian national team.
