Technical director of Milan Paolo Maldini revealed that Chelsea had made an unofficial transfer request for a Rossoneri player Rafaela Leau. The Italian club refused.
Despite this, the Londoners have no plans to retire. For the Milanese, the situation is complicated by the fact that the Portuguese contract with the club is valid until the summer of 2024 and the negotiations for the extension have not yet yielded results. The player is asking for a salary of 6 million pounds a year, but Milan are not happy with this. Leau’s release price is £ 130 million.
The extension of Leau’s contract with Milan is further complicated by the fact that he is the player’s agent Giorgio Mendes he wants the club under the new agreement to assume payment of the player’s fine. The player was fined £ 13.9 million plus interest by the Court of Arbitration for Sport after illegally terminating his contract with Sporting CP and then moving to Lille in 2018. The amount of the debt is reported it is now around 16 million pounds. The court currently withholds 25 percent of Leau’s salary each month.
Previously, another English club was interested in the player.
