Honored coach of Russia Igor Kolyvanov, in an interview with RT, commented on the information that the midfielder of Dynamo and the Russian national team Arsen Zakharyan could change his sports citizenship in order to play for the Armenian national team.
Earlier, Armenian journalist Hrach Khachatryan said that FIFA could make an exception for Zakharyan and allow him to change the national team. According to the source, the 19-year-old player is considering the possibility of obtaining Armenian citizenship because of this.
“I don’t know whether to believe it or not. The situation is still difficult. On the one hand, Zakharyan played for the Russian national team. They say that FIFA may allegedly allow him to play for the Armenian national team, but so far there is clearly not enough information. Someone launched a duck, and everyone is discussing it.
On the other hand, it is necessary to ask Arsen a question: is he ready to take such a step? So far, alas, it is unlikely that he will still be at Chelsea. We just have to guess what the person has in mind, – said Kolyvanov.
Zakharyan played four matches in the Russian national team, in which he scored one assist. The Dynamo Moscow midfielder joined the national team in September, but due to an injury, he will miss the friendly match with the Kyrgyz team on September 24.
