Barcelona confirmed that the Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo will undergo surgery. It is scheduled for September 28 and will be held in Finland. For this reason, the player could miss the World Cup, as it will be around three months away.
Araujo was injured in a friendly match between Uruguay and Iran (0: 1). He was diagnosed with an avulsion fracture in his right thigh: it is a detachment of bone particles at the attachment site of the muscle tendon.
Earlier it was reported that the defender refused the operation to play at the World Cup.
