Alexander Matytsyn headed the board of directors of the Moscow football club Spartak. This was announced by Matytsin himself, who is the first vice president of Lukoil.
On September 5, Match TV announced that Matytsyn, who had worked at Lukoil for 25 years, would take the position of chairman of the board of directors of Spartak. On August 22, Lukoil announced the acquisition of 100 percent of the shares of the football club and the Otkritie Bank Arena stadium. The company has been the general sponsor of Spartak for over 20 years.
— A new Board of Directors was elected. It included top managers of Lukoil – experts in the financial, legal, corporate governance areas Pavel Zhdanov, Ivan Maslyaev and Evgeny Khavkin, the general director of the club Evgeny Melezhikov and the president of the Spartak Academy Sergey Rodionov, as well as independent directors Oleg Malyshev and Yusuf Alekperov.
Our first priority is to create a more transparent collegial mechanism for decision-making and allocation of funding. When implementing it, we will rely on Lukoil’s management model, the effectiveness of which has been proven by the company’s 30-year history, TASS quotes Matytsyn.
Earlier, Leonid Fedun left the posts of chairman of the board of directors and president of Spartak, he will no longer take part in the management of the club.
