Former Spartak striker Valery Kechinov spoke about the decision of the first vice-president of Lukoil Alexander Matytsyn to head the board of directors of the football club and invite top managers of the oil company there.

In August, Lukoil bought out 100% of the shares of the Moscow club and the Otkritie Bank Arena stadium, Leonid Fedun left the post of president and chairman of the board of directors of Spartak.

— Of course, it is difficult to predict. We don’t see anything yet, we don’t understand anything and we don’t know what will happen next. We got used to the way Fedun and his team worked, and were already ready for one or another factor. As for the new leadership, what policy it will have, I cannot predict. But now they don’t need to build a stadium, they just need to buy strong, qualified football players who could fulfill the tasks facing Spartak – the first place. Such players should be in the team, and for this, of course, good money is needed. Therefore, if the new management does not spare money for such players, we will evaluate the work positively, – Gazeta.Ru quotes Kechinov.

Spartak, having scored 19 points in 10 matches, is on the 5th line in the WORLD standings of the Russian Premier League (RPL).
