The head coach of the Russian national team Valery Karpin is not sure that the friendly match with the Iranian team will take place.
On September 24, the Russian national team played a friendly match with the Kyrgyz team in Bishkek (2:1). At a press conference before this game, Karpin said that the national team plans a friendly meeting with the Iranians, which will be held on November 15 or 16 in Tehran or Doha.
– What are you dreaming about now?
– To be certain about the future. Everyone and everything.
– There is certainty for the match with Iran – will it definitely take place?
– That’s just the point – that everything is OK, ready, it seems to be signed. But do you have confidence that the match will take place?
– With Iran – yes.
– I have no. Not because of the national football federation. It’s about other factors. There are things more important than our game.
– Where would you prefer to play with Iran – in Doha or Tehran?
– For me, about the same.
– Doha is the capital of the World Cup, and there the attitude of the media towards us can be tougher.
“I don’t pay attention to this anymore,” RB Sport quotes Karpin.
