Nikolai Larin, former director of the Chertanovo football academy, is appealing against the decision of the court, which found him guilty of fraud and sentenced him to three years in prison, said Maria Eismont, the lawyer of the convict.
On Wednesday, the Zamoskovoretsky District Court of Moscow sentenced Larin to three years in a penal colony. Also, 20 million rubles were recovered from him in favor of Moskomsport. The prosecutor’s office had previously asked to give Larin 4 years and 4 months in prison.
“We will file an appeal,” Eismont told reporters.
Larin was in court under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for criminal liability for fraud committed by an organized group or on an especially large scale.
Larin worked as the head of the Chertanovo Academy from 2008 to 2021.
